bimdump is a personal inbox. The things you put in it are notes to yourself, and this page says exactly what happens to them. It describes the service as it is actually built, not as a template would describe it.

1. Who runs bimdump

The service is published by BTCode, a société par actions simplifiée (SASU) with a share capital of 500 EUR, registered under RCS Nice 909 337 057, whose registered office is at 181 avenue de Pessicart, Le Grand Large II, 06100 Nice, France. BTCode is the data controller.

2. What bimdump stores

Your account

Your email address, so you can sign in and recover your password. Your password itself is never stored — only a hash of it, which cannot be turned back into the password. Your account also holds an internal identifier that is not derived from anything about you, and an access token used by the apps to talk to the server on your behalf.

What you capture

The entries you create and the files attached to them: text, voice recordings, photos and any other file up to 50 MB, together with the time each one was captured. Uploaded files are readable only by the account that captured them; a request for someone else's file is refused, not merely undiscoverable.

Location, only if you attach it

An entry can carry a latitude and longitude if you choose to add one. Nothing about your location is collected in the background, and an entry without a location has none stored.

Technical logs

The web server records ordinary access logs — IP address, time, the path requested, the response, and the browser's user-agent string — and the application records errors. These are kept on the server, are used to keep the service running and to stop abuse, and are not used to build any profile of you.

3. What bimdump never does

• No advertising, and nothing is sold, rented or shared for marketing.
• No analytics and no tracking cookies of any kind.
• No third-party scripts, fonts or stylesheets. Everything the page loads comes from bimdump's own server.
• Nothing you capture is read for training, ranking or profiling.

There is one third-party request, and it happens only when you ask for it: opening the small map on an entry that has a location loads map tiles from tile.openstreetmap.org. That request tells OpenStreetMap your IP address and which area of the map you are looking at. Entries with no location never load it.

4. Where your data lives

• The server is hosted by OVH in Montreal, Canada. It is worth being plain about this: bimdump is run from France, but the machine holding your entries is not in the European Union.
• Backups are encrypted on that server before they leave it and are stored with pCloud in the European Union. The key that decrypts them is not kept on the server or with the backup provider.
• Email — confirmation and password-reset messages — is sent through Infomaniak in Switzerland.

5. How long it is kept

Entries are kept until you delete them. There is no expiry and nothing is removed on its own.

When you delete an entry it is removed from the database straight away. A record that something was deleted — its identifier and the time, with none of its content — is kept for about an hour so your other devices learn of the deletion and do not restore it.

When you delete your account, your access token is destroyed and your session ends immediately; your entries, your uploaded files and the account itself are then erased. It cannot be undone.

6. Cookies, and what stays on your device

One cookie, holding your session so you stay signed in. There are no advertising, analytics or third-party cookies to consent to, because there are none.

Separately, bimdump keeps a copy of your entries inside your own browser so the app works with no connection. That copy is yours, it never goes anywhere, and signing out erases it.

7. Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or object to how it is handled. Deletion you can do yourself at any time, from Settings in the app — see Delete your account. For anything else, write to contact@bimdump.com.

If you are in the European Union and you think your data is being mishandled, you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the date at the top changes and the new version is published here before it takes effect. Questions go to contact@bimdump.com.
